Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind*, right?

Mrs. G. On Monday, June 18th, Mrs. G. will climb into her fire engine red Ford Focus, say 77 Hail Marys and hit the road for six, yes six, weeks. Here is her itinerary. If the dates work for your schedule and you are interested in getting together, please send Mrs. G. an email (mrs dot ggggggggggggggg at gmail.com) with your location so she can start an email distribution list for each city to keep us all on the same page. She will also set up a meet up spot on the blog with specific details as soon as they are, well, specific.
Mrs. G. is still working off this master list.
Californians and Oregonians may notice they are not on the current itinerary. This isn't because they aren't cherished and adored but because Mrs. G. is heading down the West Coast the last two weeks of September for other reasons and it makes more sense financially and time-wise to combine the two events.
Road? Whaaa? Trip? How? Here's what's what.
And then there's this: Mrs. G. is not chickening out, so you can't either. Deal? Deal.
Hey! See you soon, floozies.
This car stops for yetis.

Road Trip

The best shot I have is Tulsa. I will start seeing what I can do to get to Tulsa.
Wow! That is one HECKUVA road trip! Just let me know how to assist! Admiring your MOXIE my dear!!
Yay! See you in Charlottesville. Hope you'll camp with us. I have a spare bed all ready for you.
I am about 45 min-1 hr. from Philadelphia and would love to meet up with you wherever you are headed there. Let me know and I will make sure to be off. Sounds like a plan, though subject to change due to circumstance I am sure! Happy travel planning!
We should gather in Seattle or Bellevue to give Mrs. G a proper send off.
Yay, Kansas City won!!!!! I'll email you about the space and beauty of my guest room. I thought you were renting a car.
See ya in Boston, lady!
Julie, gas prices trump rental car. My baby should make it and I have Triple A.
Yes, when is the Bellevue send-off party? :)
Yes, Anne, we need to have a send off party AND welcome home party in Seattle! I'm in.
Congratulations on having your plan come together! I look forward to your I-5 corridor trip in the fall and will cheer from cyberspace on the inaugural trip!
Awww, September is so far off! OK, patiently waiting with empty couch... :) Have so much fun, Heather!
When I donated $20.00 I didn't expect to have to wait until September. False advertising. I would like my money returned. I'll email you.
BA, I will return it the second I get your email. I don't think I am guilty of false advertising. I think I had to juggle time, miles, logistics, money and common sense, but I'm sorry if you are upset.
Whoohooo!!
Thank you for returning my money. Please get your story straight next time.
I am struggling with your tone, BA, but since it's Easter I'm just going mention I never had a story (timeline or itinerary) until tonight and wish you well.
I will see you in Minneapolis. Please, please tell me Minnesota Matron can join us! Looking forward to it, Mrs. G! What a crazy trip. You are braver than me! But that's not saying much but I swear I will not chicken out. I'll be there!
Please stay away from rest and truck stops at night, Mrs. G. I'm going to worry about you all the way across and back. But we can discuss this is Philly!
False advertising? Wow. Good to see it addressed civilly though.
Thinking your roadtrip looks awesome Mrs G. No really, awe-some as in I am full of awe at your bravery and take charge-iness. My only caveat to the whole thing is based on my roadtrip yesterday down 2/3 of England's West Coast (6 hours) make sure you carry a comprehensive pharmacy in your First Aid Kit. Indelicate summary over in the Confessional.
I like reading your blog but how much longer are we going to have to hear about this trip? Quit shilling and get back to the business of writing.
Woo-hoo! I'm really looking forward to June!
Since Michigan had such a nice group, I was expecting to see a Detroit stop so I completely missed that you'll actually be in Toledo! Woohoo! That's what I get for skimming, I guess. I'm so excited, Mrs. G.!
Am so very excited to read about your trip and see you in BOSTON.
xoxo
Between Boston and Toledo is a LOT of miles, and Mrs G is wisely going to be with us here in Ithaca....alright upstate NY, Becky I think has Mrs G one day, then us, will people from Oswego or Niagara etc want to come on over to my house? Perhaps we have a chance to par-tay that Friday before she departs? Email me garyrith at yahoo dot com :)
Woot!!!! I can't wait!!! Thanks for letting me be a small part of this, Mrs. G!!!
Wow - where did the haters come from? Mrs. G - so looking forward to seeing your beautiful face. Safe travels.
Well, depending on how you get from NO to ATL, I might get to see you! Coming over on I-10, I hope?!?!
I cannot understand how someone who donated a small sum to help Mrs G get around the country (presumably because they wanted to meet up with her) now wants their money back because she's not able to make it until Sept??? WTF?
And seriously, Nonna, this is Mrs G's blog so surely that gives her the right to post and write about any topic she likes for as long as she likes, doesn't it?
It's clear I simply do not understand the workings of some human's minds
Have a fab trip Mrs G, I hope everyone you meet is welcoming and lovely and you have the best time. I think you're quite brave to take your blog life into RL, kudos! xx
Yay! I will be at the July 14 meetup in Toledo. I am very excited.
Or maybe I will be a wild woman and drive to Ithaca! Mini road trip!
Sweet...I for one, love the dates you'll be in Boston. Looking forward to meeting some new friends!
Cheyenne is a quick trip from Denver, about 100 miles, I can manage that!
Years ago some of us would drive to Cheyenne on a regular basis, as you could buy full-strength booze in Wyoming at age 18 but in Colorado you had to wait until 21... (does anyone remember 3.2 beer?) oohh now you've got me taking another trip in the way-back machine!
Boy that's going to be an awkward meeting with BA in September....
Woot! I'm excited you're spending two days in KC. Biggest news here? We're getting an aquarium AND a motherf****** Legoland! What's up world, KC is on the map! I can't wait to meet Mrs. G and the other Kansas City Derfs!
Huh, that posted before the second hit from BA turned up. People are weird, non?
I'll be driving to TOLEDO from mid-Michigan. Who wants to carpool?? And share a hotel?
Also... FALSE ADVERTISING? Bahahaaaaa.
Let's all say this together:
"If you don't like what you are reading, hit the little X button and it will go away. Be nice or go home."
Came over from Unmitigated.
That is quite a trip. Be prepared for radically different weather in Houston than what you are use to in Bellevue in June. I grew up in and lived most of my life in Auburn, WA., after 3 years in Houston we haven't quite adjusted.
Have a great time!
I think Toledo might be in the cards for me!
All KC area Derfs can reach me at mommy2kai at yahoo dot com. For some reason, Mrs. G, your email address still comes up as invalid when I try to email you. Weird! Jessie, KC is on da mutha-f&*%in' map with Legoland and an Aquarium! Not bad for a 'cow-town'!
As I looked over the Madison part, peculiar sounds came out of my mouth, sounds of excitement, kind of like Margaret Thatcher talking about war.
@Jodi Anderson - did you mean Margaret Thatcher with her squeaky real voice or the elocuted deeper version?? (winky face)
I can wait until September. Heck, I can wait until whenever as long as I know we have a future chance to get together. It will be so much fun to read about the meet ups at each stop.
Happy Trails Mrs. G!
Darla
I'm hopeful I can do the Atlanta dates - maybe the 2nd. All depends on FIL surgery dates and if we are going up there for 4th of July, but regardless, I am so excited!!!!! Atlanta is wonderful!
Houston! YAY!!!
I'm in Boise!! Wahoo!
Hurray!
Have a great trip, take lots of photos and share them with us all. We West-Coasters are patient!!!
Kate.....I'm a maybe for Toledo....I have to check the finances part and how many hours to Toledo from Grand Rapids.....but we'll see? If you are Lansing area, I could swoop over......anyone else?
I'm so excited for all you non-westers! We will expect full reports while we are busily crossing off our calendars until September.
