Derfwad of the Week!
Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2:29PM
Mrs. G. Hello Fellow Derfwads! I’m Laura Healy, also known as The Other Laura. I blog, somewhat
sporadically, at One of Three. I am a poet, a mother, a wife and the keeper of the house. I live in
San Antonio, Texas.
I am mother to this kid and I must confess a large portion of my blog traffic is due to folks
swinging by to look at his happy mug.
I am a liberal, a peacenik, a passionate cook, a clumsy but enthusiastic knitter, an unrepentant
optimist, a church-goer, a reader, an ardent fan of both Joss Whedon and Aaron Sorkin, and a
gardener.
I am the folder of clothes and the maker of sandwiches. I am a fervent believer in vulnerability
and letting yourself be truly seen and I work hard to practice this, with varying degrees of
success, every day.
I believe that everyone is an artist and our lives are our most meaningful works of art, whether
we are painting a portrait, weeding a garden, running a company or making the perfect pot of
soup (and yes, I’m looking at you, Original Laura).
Come on over to One of Three and introduce yourself. The more derfs, the merrier!

Hi Laura! I'll be over (to your blog) soon!
Thanks, Laura!
Hello lovely Laura.
Hello, Laura: had to do a double take when I saw that you were from San Antonio. Figures I would only run across your blog *after* I'd left San Antonio and moved to Seoul. I feel sure I must have walked past you at least once some Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market at the Pearl Brewery or rubbed elbows with you during Fiesta at the King William Parade...but maybe I'm just imagining it.
Enjoyed looking through your blog - enjoy your summer!
i positively adore Laura and have adopted her wonderful son into my family of "nephews".....you gotta love a celllo playing kid who rocks the computer and loves his mom and dad.
plus....i totally lust after her hair.
really.
i do.
Good morning. lovely ladies! Mscaroline, I am a frequenter of the farmer's market at the Pearl, perhaps we crossed paths there?!
And, Oh, Aunt Debbie, you make me blush! (kisskiss)
You have the BEST hair!!! <3
Hi Laura!
Wonderful! Pleased to meet you! San Antonio is one of my favorite cities.
I'll stop by your blog after breakfast.
Anyone who has a red headed kid who plays the cello is a winner in my book. (says the red head who plays the flute.) Nice to meet you and put a face with the name.
Don't even get me started on Laura's hair. I've coveted it for years and believe waxed on about it in an old Slow Cook Thursday! And Max got it! I love genetics.
I'm looking forward to meeting you in Houston!
Another red headed cello playing kid here too (not such a kid anymore and played cello 4th grade through 8th grade). It is good to meet you Laura
Omg Laura! I have been wanting your hair my entire life, it's gorgeous! Nice to meet you!
Nice to meet you, Laura! If my husband hadn't retired, I would probably be living in SATx right now.
My son's best friend in Virginia had the same coloring as your son -- such incredibly beautiful hair and eyes.
oops - signed in using my daughters google account on the last comment!
Now I'm in mine.
All the best -
Bonnie
