FYI!!! While Fort Collins is currently smoky as all get out...I predict that all fires should be under control and not affecting any Derf gathering by next week!
Becky: It must be awful! We have plenty of wildfire haze here in Denver but nothing like what you're experiencing. I even have a friend in Colorado Springs who mentioned yesterday that the smoke and haze made it all the way down there! Here's hoping the winds stay calm so the firefighters can catch up with Ms. Nature.
I'm going to try to make it to the gathering at Gary's -- but if I don't make it, I keep telling myself that I can always visit you on my next trip home . . .

Be seeing you soon here in New Orleans. A little cool front blowing through today - it's only 81ยบ today, so I have the back door open, the kitty tapping me, mewing, wanting something. (I know 'cause she's doing the cute voice.) I'm pretending I don't speak kitty. Tomatoes are actually plenty and edible. Unfortunately, by the time you reach here the temperatures will be normal again, somewhere in the 90's. Still, it's beautiful and a bit of jasmine is still blooming, the parsley and fennel will be fully open, and at night it's pleasant under the palmettos (with misquito repellant). Bring your dressiest undies for formal wear; too hot to wear more.
