Last Call, Minneapolis...Mrs. G. is Headed for Home

Mrs. G. apologizes for the abrupt change in schedule (especially to Becky), but duty calls. Today marks a month on the road and Mrs. G. is itching to hug her husband and catch her son's latest performance in West Side Story. She's going to try and get home a couple of days early.

Mrs. G. pulls into Minneapolis tomorrow so if you are in the area, please join her at a meet up on Wednesday night, July 18th at Nye's (Named the Best Bar in America) around 6:30. She really hopes to see you there!

P.S. She's heading out at dawn on the 19th and driving across North Dakota and Montana. She hasn't had much response from these states, but if you are in the area (SewSew?) and want to try and catch breakfast/lunch/dinner off the freeway, email her at mrs.ggggggggggggggg at gmail dot com and let's try to make it work.

Wait, you mean I could drive to Seattle and see your son in West Side Story?

Your room is still waiting here for you in Spokane. You've got to sleep sometime! (Plus I think I heard a bird whisper that Johnny likes rum cake.)

I will try to get there on Wednesday night!

Rats! I have a performance Wednesday night too but Nye's is very close to downtown so I will stop by for the first half hour or so. Wish I could stay longer. Hope Kitty Gigantica likes to polka!

Would like to report a major UK Derfapalooza meet-up, in honour of the Derfwad Tour 2012, of all the Dorset Derfs today!!!!!!!!!! Yes ladies (And Gary), we got together and had a snack and checked out arty and crafty things, and we got along like a house on fire! All two of us! Trash is as fabulous in person as expected, and I hope we can do it again soon.

Wow, a whole month on the road... Safe travels Mrs. G, I am sure your hearth and home are missing you. XX

We did! We did, Derfs! Nan made it all the way up to the top of my Hill and we had a fabulous time. Chatting and eating and looking at beautiful things and stuff. It was our little UK resident Derfapalooza. Kind of a practice for the next meet-up (happy face)

Aaaaah man! Aunt Snow you would have loved the trip down to Dorset. Road takes you past Stonehenge and rail takes you through beautiful countryside. Next time, hey?

"UK resident Derfapalooza" is the best phrase I've heard all week!

Hey Minnesota peeps...there's a lot going on in downtown Minnie tomorrow night. Twins game, Aquatennial parade, awesome opera performance (I may be biased on that one). Plan on traffic being a bit of a nightmare...especially Hennepin Avenue.

Hope the road home doesn't feel too long!

So sad (for me!) but happy (for you!)

Hope y'all have a great time Wednesday night! Wish I could be there but I can't get off work.

and i'm hoping there is a report on that UK Derfapalooza......what ablast that must have been!!!

Oh Mrs. G! When I saw the time frame that you'd originally planned for the Minnesota/NorthDakota leg of your trip, my little bloggy heart sank, and I knew I'd just have to watch your adventures from the sidelines. My department at work is gearing up for a huge event, and we are all working pretty much round the clock this week and next. I wish that I could anticipate a time on the 19th that I could at least run out to the freeway and wave at you as you drive through Fargo Moorhead, but alas... my time is not my own. Safe travels my friend, and think of me slaving away in cubicle world as you breeze through my neck of the woods!

Oh Aunt Snow, so sorry! It was a bit last-minute, but Trash lives in the loveliest part of Dorset, just beautiful. And Trash is lovely and beautiful too :)

July 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterNan

I so wanted to be in Minneapolis with the Derfs, but unfortunately life has a way of upsetting my carefully laid plans. Have a wonderful time and enjoy the cities.

Pshaw Nan, I think you were carried away by the altitude up here on The Hill. One of is gorgeous and lovely and fabulous and has the BEST accent ever and it wasn't me.

I am loving the lovefest that is this tour and the Dorset derfFest! Thank you Mrs. G for making this all possible!!!!

So sad that I could not come over. Sitting at home with my 3 kids in bed and a husband still at work. :(

Every party has a pooper, this one's name was Claudia.....my lovely sister used to sing that to me.... Sorry I had to meet, greet, and run out on the festivities. Great fun meeting you lovely ladies and especially the esteemed Mrs. G. No Kitty Gigantica sighting tonight so that just means we will have to get together again. Can't wait to hear the recap of the evening!
