you did! You rock and rolled all over the USofA leaving love and laughter with many, and a few other things. It was grand, decompress, get some family time and sleep in your own bed, we will be waiting. Hugs Galore
Nothing like a hug from your love, a good sleep in your own bed, and a coffee in your favorite mug! Trips are awesome....getting home is the cherry on the cake.
Huzzah! Nothing is as sweet as your own crib after a long trip.
I must admit my gut reaction to this post: she can't be home! I haven't mailed her camera cord yet! But I'm guessing it wasn't at the top of your list of Things You Really Miss at Home. At least I'm assuming you don't sleep with it or carry it around like some weird (yes, I'm judging) talisman.
Welcome home. You showed those serial killers who's boss!
Fantastic, Mrs. G.!! Well done. I had fun vicariously meeting all the Derfs you visited and seeing all the Derfdom photos you posted. Maybe some day some of us will visit others of us, based on the love and fun you showed in all your posts. I know my door will always be open to others traveling in my area. I enjoyed your adventure tremendously.
She's HOME! She's Safe! (thinking baseball here -- my apologies to Mr. G. for incorrect terminology!)
Like Mary Alice commented a few posts back, it would have been fun to watch your car on a live-time map, following your GPS. We could turn it into a board game, something akin to the game of Life, where you load "people" into your car and drive along the squares. You would have a certain pirate and a big Siamese kitty in your car, but the rest of us could load up and "drive" along with you.
Happy Ending! I love that you really and truly did this. We all have big plans, late night what if scenarios, but often the small needs and complications distract. It is an inspiration to watch the followthrough and be a small part of the recipe for success.
To Mrs. G: Welcome Home! You could write a book about your adventure. Call it “Strong As A New Rope, subtitled, “How Johnny Depp, Kitty Galatica and I traveled 6,297 miles, slept with 33 people we didn’t know, and met 78 new friends we already knew.”
To the Naysayers: We Told You So! She Did It!
Thanks to all the Derfs who helped, hosted, and came to the meetups -- you are just as brave and adventurous in your own ways too. Congrats to all!
What Susan said... :) Welcome home and congrats and THANK YOU for taking us along with you! I loved seeing all the Derfs and am still excited as all get out for the West Coast trip!!!
Home, home, home, the best place on earth to be, you are home! Congratulations on completing your journey. Thanks for taking us all along. Sleep well Mrs. G.
I feel so lucky that I had the chance to share a little time with you. It was so much fun to hang out with Jenny, Tiffany, Meredith, Mark and YOU! It was a very brave thing for you to do and you've inspired me to try hard things. Derfwad Nation forever!
I love Debbie Z.'s book title. You are writing a book, right? Was an honor to meet you and the esteemed Ms. G. So happy that I was a teeny part of your big adventure.
Welcome home! I am so happy for you, that you did it!! You completed what would have done many of us in. And you did it with so much love and joy. And IMHO, made any of us that had some small part in this journey feel like we were the reason for the trip. I'm glad I got to be just a small part of it.
Now it's time to take it easy, rest, regroup. We'll be here when you get back.
There's no place like home! There's no place like home! There's no place like home! Welcome home Mrs. G! Although I wasn't able to meet you on this trip, thank you so much for letting me live it and enjoy it vicariously through your pictures and posts. I had a great time too! ps: I love Kate in Michigan's comment. hehe
Well done, Mrs. G! What a grand adventure ... I hope you don't mind, but I still have the pictures of Johnny in the frames on my dresser. My daughter thinks I should leave them that way, and I just might!
I was away this weekend, so missed the final chapter of the adventure...I'm glad you're home safe and sound. I turned on the computer when I got in, while chatting to my husband. He's an understanding kind of guy...."You must have a lot of work emails to sort out." "No, I just want to check if Mrs G is home." "Ahhh, " he says "That would be the scary cat coffee cup lady?"
I'm in awe of you for DOING IT. I'm thankful I got to participate in the Derf Tour. Enjoy your homecoming, Mrs. G. Hopefully those men got things ship-shape by the time you rolled in the driveway.

Travel is fun but it's nice to get home. Thanks for taking us along. What a trip!
At the end of the game, the score is: Mrs G 9the big winner), ONE to Crazed psycho killers in vans with chain saws ZERO :)

Congrats on the close of a wonderful brave adventure! I admire your courage and determination and MOXIE!
Though - I hope the next time you come see us in Houston, it will be in either the spring or fall - the weather is SO much better.

Welcome home! And to all those haters that said you couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't do this, I say, "In your FACE, haters!"
Thank you for taking us along on your journey!
Glad to hear you made it home safely, and glad I had the chance to meet you and the other local derfs :).

What Debbie in AZ said ... with another Congrats.
It was an amazing journey and I cannot even begin to imagine how you must feel now that you have completed it, Mrs. G!
I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
And I'm so glad we clapped for Tink.
