Good Shit: Dreams

This is the house Mrs. G. wants at the Women's Colony. There will have to be twinkling lights in that tree. Have you started imagining yours?

I don't really care if it's a tent as long as I don't have to clean it!

Yours looks great, but I'd turn one set of stairs into a slide!

Looks lovely - of course there will be fairy lights. I'm still looking for my cottage.
Mine will require a sleeping porch and Deb's waterfall and pond.

What happened? I posted a comment earlier today and it isn't here.....

;-(

Oh, well - I like the tree house and I want a big flag on it.

I want mine near water so that I can hear the waves.

That's a nice one. I like the shady spot, but it has to be near water. The Colony will have a lake, right?

I'd like a place with a view of yours, so I can enjoy the lights at night.

I'll have to start dreaming about my own place. It is something I hadn't really considered.

I think I am so lucky that I already live in my dreamy storybook cottage...if only it were a little bit bigger to hold more of my cat collection. I'll put some fairy lights up before your visit.

I will have a lakehouse too...no, The Lakehouse...with Keannu dropping in to visit.

A yurt might be just the thing for me:

close to a mountain stream so I can listen to the water laughing all the way downhill.

I have always pictured a little stone cottage with lots of bookshelves and reading nooks. AND amazing gardens and a hot gardener to care for them. I'll go out and help when the desire strikes me.

You know, I occasionally put myself to sleep by designing my Women's Colony house! Currently it's an apartment-type, set up on the second floor so there's a good view of the beach. Lots of trees, a balcony overlooking the waves, a kitchen large enough to invite in a few other derfs if the mood hits me to do some entertaining. Plenty of bookshelves and comfy chairs and couches. The bathroom has an old fashioned tub as well as the shower - the kind of tub with a slope made to support the human back.

I think I'll add fairy lights to that balcony!

Definitely a treehouse. But with a fireman's pole (and a fireman), a swing with looooong ropes, climbing flowers, a waterfall into a stream nearby, birds and squirrels, an herb garden for scent, and fairy lights. Made of real fairies. Many books, a couple of basset hounds (they'll have a long ramp they can walk up -- bassets can't climb), and some hammock-chairs with footrests.

No, I haven't been imagining this for years, why do you ask? (smiley)

I dreamed about a screen house years ago, with a tin roof, and a sleigh bed where I was snuggled under comforters watching snow fall. It was chilly chilly cold but I wasn't. Perhaps I'll pretend that's what going on right now while it's in the 90's here. the down south naomi

I actually love my own house. Just need someone to repair it and clean it. And maybe add a fireplace.

I love the descriptions being given here! The more I think about it, the more I believe I'd like to be able to move about, changing up where I live so it never becomes dull or boring (this in addition to never having to clean it unless I really wanted to). And I think I would get lonely and become a recluse in my own house most of the time if I didn't have the option of spending some of my nights in a group situation. So here is where I am going with my current dream:

Various houses with private rooms and private baths... enough closet space to hang a week's worth of clothing, enough space to decorate just a little bit to make it "me"... and then group kitchens and group living areas (plus more private nooks) .. and definitely some group work areas for interesting workshops: a big scrapbooking room, a quilting group room, a couple of art studios for various forms/formats so we could take classes and practice with others.
I'd still want to have a place to escape to, but I think changing things up and moving about every week or so would keep me from being too much of a packrat.
Plus this way I can live in a variety of places/homes/styles and enjoy ALL of them! (Or maybe I just don't like to choose?)
