1) When you went trick or treating as a kid, what was one candy you hated to get?
Oooof, candy corn, ick! Some people would also give you well-intentioned cookies which mom would make you throw away, so that was a loser, ditto apples. Getting change was nice, best of all snickers!

3) What book or movie have you read/seen lately that you would recommend? MOVIE: Blue Jasmine, wicked good, and reread a recent collection of Alice Munro's short stories. She won the Nobel for a reason!

1) When you went trick or treating as a kid, what was one candy you hated to get?

Anything with peanuts or peanut butter. I like peanut butter, just not with chocolate. I'm weird, I know.

2) What is your middle name?

Lynn. I was given that name in honor of Lyndhurst, NJ where my parents both grew up, 15 years apart. It's not a pretty place, but I wish they had used the whole town name, I might have kept it. I did exactly what IrishJenn did above.

3) What book or movie have you read/seen lately that you would recommend?

I'm drawing a blank on movies I'd recommend. I'm trying to finish Five Days for this weekend. It's jaw dropping. I want to see Monuments Men, and I would recommend the more serious book it is modeled on The Venus Fixers

4) If you could speak another language fluently, which would you choose?

French. I studied it for 10 years, but never did the semester abroad, and so never attained fluency. It's old fashioned, but I still love it.

5) Who is your favorite cartoon character?

I was never big into cartoons, but although I am too old to have been her, Daria could have been my life in high school - Smart, sardonic, and surrounded by idiots.

2. Lillian, after my godmother.
3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, amazing writer, and a personal hero of mine.
4. French more fluently, and Russian, which I can puzzle out bits of since I know the cyrillic alphabet. Sochi got me going again.
5. Pinky, from Pinky and the Brain, though I like all the Animaniacs. They are what cartoons are supposed to be, entertainment, not moral lessons told by marketaable characters. Just like the old Warner Bros. cartoons used to be.

Necco Wafers. Or black licorice.

@Amybee, I have read everything by Courtney Milan as soon as it comes out....she's one of my favorites. The series is getter better with each one.

1) Candy corn and nehis - I think that's what they were called, those tasteless chalky disks.

2) Renee

3) "Her" (the movie) was completely unique and surprisingly charming. Books - "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman was a delightful fairy tale, and "The Boy Detective Fails" was sad and funny and confusing all at once.

4) Italian, Greek, or Danish

5) I liked the Coyote and Roadrunner when I was small…the Triplets of Bellvue is pretty good...
